Fellowships Fully Funded Multiple Asia Global

Asia in the World Fellowship 2027/28 (Fully Funded)

Offered by International Institute for Asian Studies (IIAS), Leiden University

1 Nov 2026

Fully funded fellowship from Asia in the World Program in Multiple. Check the deadline and eligibility on the official page before applying.

A fellowship offered by Asia in the World Program in Multiple.

The organiser describes this as fully funded. On this site that means tuition and accommodation are recorded as covered; flights are left as not stated until we have confirmed them, because they vary between programmes that use the same phrase. This is aimed at applicants at Postdoctoral level.

Before you apply

Open the official page and confirm three things: that the deadline still stands, that you meet the eligibility criteria as they are written there, and what documents you will need. Applications fail more often on a missing document than on a weak candidate.

Every detail here is checked against the organisation's own page, and that page is the authority: deadlines move, eligibility is rewritten, and programmes are withdrawn without announcement. Confirm before you apply.

How to apply

Applications are made through the IIAS fellowship application form linked from the programme page. The fellowship runs in two phases — three months at a partner institution in Asia, Africa, Latin America or Europe, then six months at IIAS in Leiden — and it cannot start early, run late or be shortened.

What you will need

  • Completed IIAS application form
  • CV
  • Research proposal
  • PhD certificate or defence date confirmation

Eligibility notes

For early- to mid-career researchers and knowledge professionals holding a PhD. Candidates finalising a PhD may apply if the defence takes place before the stated cut-off.

Details can change without notice. Confirm everything on the organisation's own page before you apply — see our disclaimer. Spotted something out of date? Tell us.
